Where claude motion design Shines: Coded Explainer Animation

Rather than generating footage, claude motion design composes every scene as code from your brief — text, charts, shapes, and images animate like a short film, and nothing gets locked down.

  • Scenes Written as Code
Every animation is a coded artifact: your prompt drives text, charts, shapes, and images into motion. No footage model sits behind it, so you get clean graphics instead of filmed people.
  • Each Project Becomes a Saved Artifact
Whatever you build lands in the Artifacts tab, and Motion is one template among several you can select when starting something new.
  • Edit a Single Detail Without Breaking the Rest
Because the scene is code, swapping one word, one figure, or a beat of timing leaves every other element untouched.

Owners and Primary Owners switch Motion on under Organization settings > Artifacts — enabled by default for Team, disabled for Enterprise, and restrictable to selected groups via custom roles.

FAQ

claude motion design — Questions Answered

Answers to the most common questions about claude motion design, from which plans include it to how MP4 export works.

1

Which plans include claude motion design?

Motion is currently in beta for Team and Enterprise. Team plans have it switched on by default; Enterprise plans keep it off until an owner enables it under Organization settings > Artifacts.

2

Can it produce realistic footage or people?

No — no video generation model sits behind it. What animates is the text, charts, shapes, and images from your own material, rendered as code, so filmed footage and human actors are out of scope.

3

Where are my animations stored?

Each one is saved to the Artifacts tab as an artifact built from the Motion template, sitting alongside the rest of your artifacts.

4

Does Motion count against my plan limits?

It does. Motion uses your plan's usage allowance like any other Claude work, and longer or more complex animations consume more of it than a normal message.

5

Can I save an animation as a video file?

Yes. Choose Export and select MP4, and the animation is downloaded as a playable video file you can embed wherever you like.

6

Who enables Motion for an organization, and can access be restricted?

Owners and Primary Owners manage it under Organization settings > Artifacts. On Enterprise, owners can also limit Motion to specific groups through custom roles.
