A Closer Look at Claude Motions
Currently in beta, this artifact template takes assets you already have and returns compact, code-driven animations that play back like a video clip.
- Your Clip Arrives as an ArtifactEvery animation is generated from the Motion template, so it sits beside your other Claude artifacts instead of inside a separate editing suite.
- Motion Comes From Code, Not a Video ModelNo generative video engine sits behind it — expect animated text, charts, shapes and images drawn from the files you supply, not lifelike people or camera footage.
- Everything Lands in the Artifacts TabWhatever you build is filed in the Artifacts tab, ready to reopen, revise, or pass along to a colleague whenever someone asks for the latest version.
How Claude Motions Works in Three Steps
From a plain-language brief to a finished, shareable clip in three short moves.
Claude Motions Capabilities at a Glance
Briefing guidance, scene-level edits and hands-on controls — here is the toolkit you get when animating your own assets.
Brief It Well: Audience, Screen and Length
State who will watch, where the clip will play, and roughly how long it should run before the first render begins.
Bring Your Own Decks, Figures and Visuals
Add the files you want on screen so the final cut is built from your real numbers and imagery, not invented placeholders.
Rework One Scene by Asking
Ask in plain language for a slower second scene or a corrected Q3 figure, and only that portion of the animation is rebuilt.
Nudge Elements Yourself in the Editor
Would rather drag things around than describe them? Open the editor and reposition pieces of the Claude Motions animation by hand.
Small Fixes Without Rebuilding the Whole Clip
Because everything renders from code, changing a single word, number or beat keeps the remaining elements exactly where they were.
Beta Access and Admin Controls
It is in beta on Team and Enterprise plans: Team workspaces get it by default, while Enterprise owners switch it on under Organization settings > Artifacts and can limit access to selected groups through custom roles.
Claude Motions: Questions Answered
Straight answers on beta access, export options, sharing rules and how usage counts against your plan.
Which plans can use Claude Motions?
Beta access covers Team and Enterprise. Team workspaces have it on by default; on Enterprise an owner enables it first under Organization settings > Artifacts.
Will it generate lifelike footage of people?
No — there is no video model involved. What you get are animated explainers, charts and walkthroughs assembled from your own material rather than realistic humans or camera shots.
Can a single word or figure be changed in place?
Yes. Because the output is code, editing one word, number or timing cue leaves every other element exactly where it was.
Where are my animations stored?
They sit in the Artifacts tab, filed alongside everything else your workspace has created with Claude Motions.
How do I download or share what I make?
Pick Export followed by MP4 to keep a copy; items start out private, so open one and use Share to grant access.
Does it count against my usage allowance?
Yes. Animation work draws on the same usage allowance as anything else, and longer or more complex clips consume more of it than a routine message would.
Put Claude Motions to Work on Your Content
Open Claude and choose the Motion template, or simply ask for an animation in chat. On Enterprise plans, an owner must switch Claude Motions on under Organization settings > Artifacts before the team can use it.
