What a Claude Motion Clip Actually Is

Each piece starts from the Motion template and lands in your Artifacts tab as living code — text, charts and shapes that move, never filmed scenes.

  • Animation, Not Filming
What you get is moving code, so it plays like a short video without ever generating lifelike people or camera footage.
  • One Template, Many Clips
Every piece you create is filed in the Artifacts tab, so you can return to it weeks later and keep editing.
  • Rolling Out to Business Plans
Team workspaces have it switched on already; Enterprise admins release it themselves under Organization settings > Artifacts.

How a Claude Motion Clip Comes Together

Pick whichever starting point suits you and finish with an MP4 you can drop into a deck or send to a teammate.

Motion Clip Features That Cut Out Rework

Pinpoint edits, your own source material, a clean MP4 export and sharing you decide on — the day-to-day mechanics of the tool.

Tweak a Single Detail

Swap one word, number or beat and every other scene holds its original layout and timing.

Drawn From Your Files

Upload the deck, sheet or images you want on screen so each scene is sourced from your own material.

Always in the Artifacts Tab

Everything you make is stored there, so finding an older piece takes seconds rather than a search.

MP4 Out of Export

Export delivers a video file that slides straight into decks, onboarding flows or all-hands sessions.

Yours Until You Share

Nobody else sees a clip until you open it and deliberately hand over the Share link.

Admin Control Over Rollout

Admins flip Motion on under Organization settings > Artifacts; on Enterprise, custom roles can limit it to certain groups.

FAQ

Motion Clip Questions, Answered

Straight answers on what these animations are made of, which plans unlock them and how sharing works.

1

Will it produce realistic footage or people?

Not at all. There is no video model in the loop — text, charts, shapes and images are animated as code, so the output reads as designed rather than filmed.

2

Which plans have access, and is it switched on?

The beta covers Team and Enterprise. Team workspaces arrive with it active; on Enterprise an admin has to enable it first.

3

How can an admin switch it on?

Through Organization settings > Artifacts, where the toggle lives. Enterprise can further restrict access by custom role for specific groups.

4

Do these clips use up my plan allowance?

Yes. They consume the same allowance as other Claude work, and a long or complex animation draws more than a quick message.

5

Can I correct one figure or retime a scene later?

Either ask for the change in chat or make it yourself in the editor; untouched scenes keep their pacing and appearance.

6

How do I get the file out or send it to someone?

Export saves an MP4 to your device. Clips remain private until you open one and use Share to give others access.

Your First Claude Motion Clip Is a Prompt Away

Choose Motion as your template, spell out the animation you want and export an MP4. On Enterprise, an admin may need to enable Motion under Organization settings > Artifacts first.
