MiniMax H3 Max Recast Turns a Locked Cut Into New Casting
Nothing here is invented from scratch. Your finished file provides the performance, the lens behaviour and the soundtrack; the portraits you bring decide who appears on screen.
- A casting decision, not a render from zeroEverything the clip already gets right — movement, framing, edit points, audio — is inherited untouched. Only the identities standing in frame are exchanged.
- Up to four portraits, read left to rightEach photo is bound to one performer, and the default binding follows the frame from leftmost to rightmost. When that guess is wrong, one short sentence in the prompt re-pairs them.
- The performance stays in the source fileGaze, head turns, beats, expressions, set lighting and lens character are all taken from the original footage; faces and clothing come from your uploads, and the same performer is tracked across scene changes.
Running MiniMax H3 Max Recast in Three Moves
Start with a take you would ship as-is, attach one portrait per person on screen, check the match in a 768p pass, then render the final at 1080p.
Inside MiniMax H3 Max Recast
Think of it as a post-production casting pass: motion, cuts and sound are shielded, only the people change, and a low-cost 768p preview lands before the 1080p master.
Cast up to four roles in frame order
Four portraits can be uploaded at once and they take over the leading performers in each shot, matched left to right by default. A line such as 'the woman on the right becomes person 1' re-pairs them.
Body language carries over untouched
Eye direction, head turns, comic timing, facial expression, set lighting and lens character all originate in the original take; only faces and wardrobe are drawn from your photos.
Cuts and soundtrack are left alone
The existing cut pattern and its soundtrack survive, so the output drops straight back into a locked edit without a re-edit or a re-record.
Face-only mode when the styling must hold
Left unprompted, the model tends to borrow hair and clothing from the portrait, even a tightly cropped headshot. Asking for a face-only change preserves the original styling — confirmed in our 23 October 2026 run.
A low-cost preview before the 1080p master
A quick 768p pass reveals whether the casting reads correctly before you spend on 1080p. Runtime mirrors the source, so cost tracks clip length.
Stress-tested across very different footage
Sample recasts cover a music-video close-up, a barista commercial, a fencing bout, a skate launch and a fish market at dawn — each holding on to its own motion, edits and sound.
MiniMax H3 Max Recast: Questions Answered
Short answers on clip limits, photo requirements, output resolution and the situations where the tool breaks down.
How does recasting differ from generating a video from scratch?
Generation invents footage. Here the raw material is a file you already own: the people in your photos take over the roles, while movement, camera work, edit points and audio come from the original.
What length of source video is accepted?
Between 5 and 30 seconds, with no single shot longer than 15 seconds. Cut longer takes into pieces first. The finished recast runs exactly as long as the input.
How many performers can be replaced, and in which order?
Up to four, one photo each. By default the portraits claim the leading performers left to right across the frame; a prompt can re-pair them if the default is off.
Which reference photos give the best result?
Sharp, evenly lit, straight-on portraits, one per person. Avoid sunglasses, hats, hands over the face, group shots and low-resolution or heavily filtered images. If the original hair and wardrobe must stay, ask for a face-only replacement.
Do I preview at 768p or go straight to 1080p?
Preview at 768p to confirm the casting reads correctly, then render at 1080p for delivery. Pricing follows the length of the clip.
When is this the wrong tool?
Not for new action, new camera work or a different location — the source dictates those. Results weaken with crowded scenes, tiny or distant faces, rapid movement and occlusion after hard cuts, and identity can slip back toward the original performer in wide shots or profile turns.
Put MiniMax H3 Max Recast to Work on Fuser
Hand over a file you have already locked, upload the faces you want in it, and the replacement runs on its own — timing, camera moves, cuts and audio remain as recorded.
